Dagens Juridik: RE:FI STHLM establishes Advisory Board – Maria-Pia Hope appointed Chair
RE:FI STHLM, Sweden’s first specialist law firm focusing on financing, has established an advisory board to bring external insights into its operations. The board will be chaired by Maria-Pia Hope, former Managing Partner of Vinge, a prominent law firm. The advisory board will not replace a traditional board of directors, but serve as a forum for strategic discussions on key topics like HR, talent management, marketing, and digitalization.
Johan Lundberg, founder of RE:FI STHLM, explains that the advisory board opens up for diverse perspectives, which is not possible under traditional Swedish law firm rules, where only lawyers can be on the board. This external input is seen as essential for driving innovation, growth, and organizational development within the firm.
Hope’s extensive experience, including her leadership roles and focus on diversity and inclusion, makes her a valuable addition to RE:FI STHLM’s journey. The firm, which launched six months ago, has grown quickly despite a sluggish market, and is involved in several high-profile projects like H2 Green Steel.
Lundberg and Hope have known each other since the 1990s, and when Hope left Vinge, Lundberg saw the opportunity to involve her in RE:FI STHLMS’s strategic planning. The advisory board will meet every two to three months to provide ongoing guidance, though it has no legal responsibility, and its role is purely consultative.
